The worthy winners throught out the years.
The NFTCC also recognises a number of cavies that are now no longer with us and who have led the way in getting the breed recognised by the cavy fancy.
These currently include -
Cheeky Pigs Missy – (bred and exhibited by Lisa Kavaney) the first black fox sow to become Best Guide Standard at Harrogate in 2007.
Tartuffe Breeshan – (bred and exhibited byNicky Reynolds) a black tan sow that became the first of the three breeds to be awarded a BIS at an open show (NCC 5*) in the UK.
Eclipse Icing (bred and exhibited by Ashley and Danni Tresisse) who became the first fox to win a BIS at an open pen show in the UK and followed this sucess with numerous other top acolades including several best in shows at NFTCC stock shows and seemed to be an almost permanent feature in the top six lineup at every show she attended until her retirement in 2010. Icing came out of retirement for the NFTCC combined stock show and took the title of best veteran fox – a beautiful cavy of such character, presence and substance that has undoubtedly been responsible for leading the cavy fancy to regard this marked breed so highly as it does today.
